Understanding Kive credits

Invitation credits and Generative AI credits in Kive

Updated this week

Kive offers two types of credits: Generative AI credits and Invitation credits. This article will explain how to utilise and acquire these two forms of credits.

AI Credits

This is the main form of credits in Kive. When we talk about credits, it's usually AI credits.

AI credits are at the core of our paid plans – and are what powers our generative AI tools like Generate Image, Generate Video and editing tools like Upscaling, Image and Video extension etc. When you run a generative tool, credits are consumed. The amount of credits consumed depend on the tool (you'll typically see the credit cost when you run an operation).

Our plans come with different AI monthly credit allocations, and your credits will reset at the start of your billing cycle (typically every month). To see how much credit you have, navigate to Settings > Subscription.

Invitation Credits

You can earn referral credits when you invite peers to Kive. Both you and your invitee get $20 in Kive invitation credits when they use an invite sent by you and create an account. You can earn up to $200 in credit, which can be applied to any of our paid plans.

Applying Invitation Credits

If you have any available credits, you can apply them to an active subscription. Credits will not be automatically applied, since you may have multiple different workspaces, and we want you to be able to choose where to apply your credits. To apply them to a workspace:

  1. Navigate to “Settings” in the sider on the lefthand side of your workspace and go to the "Subscription" section.

  2. Make sure you're on one of our paid plans or upgrade to your preferred plan.

  3. Click on the three dots to the right, next to the amount of your upcoming invoice.

  4. See your current credit balance and click "use $XX credits on next invoice" if credits are applicable.
